Silkkey D, born Gary B.G. Thompson in Linstead, St. Catherine, Jamaica, was a soulful reggae artist whose smooth voice conveyed heartfelt emotion in every line. From a young age, he was dedicated to music, performing live since the age of six, and his work reflects his deep belief in life, love, and hope. Silkkey D was known for his conscious lyrics that gave voice to the struggles of impoverished communities as well as ballads of love. Outside of his music, he was recognized as a selfless individual who put others’ needs before his own and worked tirelessly in the studio to showcase his God-given talent.
